About the event
Lammas, also known as Lughnasadh, is a Celtic festival celebrated on August 1st, marking the first harvest of the year. It's a time of gratitude for the bounty of the earth and a celebration of the harvest season, particularly the grain harvest. The name "Lammas" is derived from Old English, meaning "loaf mass," as it was traditionally a time when the first loaves of bread were blessed.
We will start a sacred circle, then, mindfully add nuts, seeds, and spices to our bread (Sourdough and a Wheat bread will be made).
Bring your favorite item from something mentioned above to add to the bread, while you share what you are celebrating in your life for the first harvest. Then, as the bread bakes, we will continue our gratitude blessings.
Everyone will be able to take a piece of bread home with them to eat - unless you want to eat…
