One Yoga Center began in 2001 when I started teaching a few Gentle & Hatha Yoga classes locally in the East Windsor area. As I watched the need for yoga in the community grow rapidly, I officially opened a full service yoga center in October 2003 offering many yoga classes for adults and children. In two and a half years, One Yoga quickly outgrew its small space. While the small, intimate setting had been a sanctuary for many students offering a personalized class atmosphere, we were in need of more space to accommodate the growing need for Yoga in the community.
In the Spring of 2006 we expanding to a larger facility in the lower level of East Windsor Flooring and changed our name to One Yoga and Wellness Center. Here we have significantly increased the number of yoga classes and added various levels and styles of yoga to meet all the needs of our students – from the true beginner to the intermediate or advanced yogi.
In our new, larger facility we strive to provide the same atmosphere and level of compassion for our students – only with more wellness options. In our new space we have the capacity to incorporate many other modalities in addition to the core Yoga programs such as: Massage Therapy, Spa Treatments, Pilates mat classes, Nutritional Counseling, Tai Chi Chih, Feldenkrais®, Personal Training, Chiropractic, Acupuncture and more. Space is available to rent for special workshops and regular classes.
Since inception many students have asked why I chose the name "one" for the center instead of some fancy,
Sanskrit name. Although one is a small word and the tiniest number, to me it has the biggest meaning. I believe that all life is connected to the one whole
and that we are not separate entities. I believe that the path to enlightenment begins with a simple, honest life where all that happens is Karma - not
coincidence. And if you break everything down, "all" just comes down to "one.” In short, "one" is the most complete word in
the universe. It’s simple, yet elegant. And in the complex world that we live in, nothing seems more perfect than “one.” -Namaste, Tracey
